About this deal

Hi Shiela! I’ve never tried it, but now I know what to review next.;) It will take some time for me to get it and test it out, but I’ll definitely message you once it’s up!

Setting powders can be a real challenge; not so much in finding one but finding one that performs well. I would still recommend RCMA No Color Powder, especially considering the price and the generous size. I just find it performs better with oily or excessively oily skin types which can be restrictive and hit and miss in terms of overall performance. Again, the swatch picture is an extreme case to highlight the differences but Laura Mercier definitely diffuses better over the skin, whereas the RCMA is more apparent. How hilarious is the thumbnail?!! YouTube is playing me and not giving me many options to work with. Let’s just say this screen grab is the best one, and yet still so embarrassing!! Below is a swatch picture of the two powders “somewhat” blended. Keep in mind, neither of them would look this obvious when applied properly. I left some residue on the skin to highlight some of the differences between the two powders: I recently bought the LM TP but I am debating on keeping it or returning and trying out the rcma powder I have never tried either one.. I have normal – combo skin my under eye sometimes can be a bit drying.. what would you recomend?/:

An extremely lightweight, silky, sheer setting powder that leaves skin with a flawless finish…contains the finest French “cashmere” talc and a unique light reflecting ingredient that that creates a “soft focus” appearance for fine lines and imperfections. Hai Sarah.. great review and so helpful. But I still have question how to apply the RCMA powder.. after I apply the powder, should I wait like 5 minutes before I continue to the next step? Thanks for your advice Can be used for all powder purposes. Since it has no filler or pigment it will not alter the color of foundation bases. Is the Rcma powder necessarily less drying? My skin is dry, and when I apply my foundation and concealer it looks perfect, no dryness or dullness. I have to set my makeup because I wear it all day, and so I use my Laura mercier powder and immediately my skin looks dull, lifeless, and dry patches all around my face are very accentuated… Even with setting spray afterwards, I find that the powder doesn’t settle (and I’ve found setting sprays to break my foundation up much sooner in the day than not using them).I have them both and use them both so I thought I’d do a comparison post and give you all the info you need if you’re wondering which one really deserves the top spot… RCMA, as a brand, is more famous in the professional makeup world. RCMA has been around for years and their No Color Setting Powder is one of their most renowned and widely used products. It fixes makeup and reduces the unpleasant shine of the skin, in addition to hiding the fine lines under the eye and giving it a light glow.

Thank you so much for the information! I have the RCMA powder and have been wanting to try to Laura Mercier one. I see sometimes online that there’s a Laura Mercier translucent powder number 01, 02, and 03. Do you happen to know what the difference is between the three? I think I’m going to try the Laura Mercier one because sometimes I get oily. Thanks again for this! You have really helped and provided amazing information! This powder is also widely used in “baking” the face – meaning it’s applied as a heavy layer over highlighted areas of the face (mainly the center), left for a few minutes to settle in and the residue dusted off with a powder brush. I personally don’t use the baking technique so my findings/opinions are based on lightly dusting the powders over the skin with powder brushes. Looking at the initial comparisons, what stands out is the fact that RCMA offers triple the amount of product at a fraction of the cost to the Laura Mercier powder. This is where many people jumped on the RCMA band wagon cos lets be honest, who doesn’t love a great product that’s also budget friendly. But of course there’s more we need to cover about each…I do have quite dry undereye area. With the powder I would like to both set my concealer, preventing it from creasing, and maybe leave it slightly lighter than the rest of the face? Because I do have foundation powder which I use to set the rest of the face, but I feel it will look too dark under my eyes. Thank you! Free from perfumes and dyes and reflects the natural color of the skin tone while maintaining the tone of the foundation and concealer. Hi Elizabeth! Thank you so much! Before responding to your question, I need to know if you have dry under eyes? And what do you want to achieve by baking? Thx!

Thank you Sheen! It doesn’t leave a white cast, and I’ve used it on almost all skin tones. Just know that a little goes a long way! If you apply too much and don’t brush off the excess it will sit on the skin and look white. Hope that helps!Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder has been holding the No:1 spot for the best setting powder category for quite some time now. Recently however, another powder has been challenging its spot: RCMA No Color Powder Laura Mercier: I know this will sound strange considering we’re talking about powders, however the Laura Mercier powder feels more moisturizing and disappears with ease. It’s great at providing an even veil over the skin, with the added bonus of performing really well under the eyes too. How the powder looks after hours of wear is usually the same as how I first apply it. It doesn’t dry out my skin, it doesn’t collect or get patchy and it doesn’t settle into the creases or highlight fine lines. Hi Mariam! Thank you so much, that means to much to me. There is only one “shade” for the translucent powder. The powder that comes in 3 shade options is the foundation powder. Hope that helps! xx thanks for the review! I am torn between the RCMA and Laura powder, I have really oily skin and the Laura Transclucent did a great job with keeping me matte longer and is great for baking, but its expensive. I want to try RCMA but I’m just not sure if it will help control my oily skin?
